Bio/Description:   Carlos and Andi live in the community of Saintfield just outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland. They have been married seven years and have two children: Chloe, 5 and Joaquin, 2.

Carlos is originally from Los Angeles and holds a Masters in Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation. Before joining CAI, he oversaw the spiritual formation program at a Christian university and served as a guest worship leader for various churches and retreats throughout Southern California. Carlos loves all things related to film, global music, singing, songwriting and running with sheep.

Andi is from northwestern Montana and holds a Masters in Education. Before joining CAI, she worked as a primary schoolteacher and as a university Resident Director where she oversaw community activities, student growth, leadership development and soul care. Andi loves interior design, photography, and breathing new life into old things. She could honestly live on a strict diet of cereal.

For their initial assignment with CAI, the Fernandez family has partnered in ministry with a local church over 350 years old. In addition to contributing to the church in areas of worship and young adult ministry, they are simply enjoying embedding themselves into the community and building partnerships extending into the greater Belfast area.

“It is both a blessing and a challenge to be living in a region so rich in its Christian heritage, that at the same time, has been so torn and divided by wounds of the past often centered in religious differences. Our daily hope and prayer is to learn as much as we can about the culture and its history, and with humility, be a presence of reconciliation and love to God’s people in this beautiful country.”
