Missional Initiative - Minneapolis
Over the last few years, we have been trying to discern what it means to contextualize the good news to our present context. As our understanding has grown, our habits and practices as a community have morphed.
Living incarnationally as a sent people is key to who we are. We consistently remind ourselves that we are to tell an alternative story in the contexts we live and work and play in.
In the Spring of 2010, we crafted a framework for multiple missional communities in our area to be networked with one another. Three times a year we will gather the communities together for three days--similar to when the Jewish people went to Jerusalem for festivals-- in order to corporately remember and worship God; missionally engage context; and feast with one another. Throughout the year, we also will serve together as a corporate body. However, the majority of our time is spent with our smaller missional communities apprenticing the Christ and embedding in individual contexts in order to tangibly demonstrate the shalom of the kingdom here and now.
If you live near the Twin Cities and want to explore what its like to be friends with CA or are interested in hearing more about how our group tries to live out a missional incarnational life, feel free to contact Chad and Christine Osgood at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to talking with you!
